It's French. The only way to do that is install an engine from a different country

And what is wrong with that?
Every socket set and ratchet set has it as standard.

Yes, but getting nuts and replacements is a nightmare.
M7 isnt ISO.

There isnt any rust on the head, and the dirt is minimal. At the moment, its the inlet, exhaust manifolds and alternator that make it look crap.
IKm avoiding taking the head apart until i have it running the first time.
If it aint broke......
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Sorry my bad
Meant rust on the engine such as alternator, pulleys etc..
Dirt, i meant on the head and the inlet manifold.
BTW the colour of the rocker cover and the turbo cover is excellent.
What is it? From different angles, it looks like whiteish

Its VHT Aluminium colour.
I sprayed two coats onto both covers, and rubbed the letters off with a sponge sanding block.
The two lines next to renault now sport red insides! I plan on doing the 5 lines on the other cover too, just to break the colour up a bit.
The top mechanisms are all painted (Red) now and are drying. The pulleys will get cleaned, as will the inlet which will also be painted. The
throttle body needs stripping and cleaning anyway.
Im replacing the alternator ultimately, but for now, ive got another (cleaner) one which will do.
The supercharger will also get some paint, though im thinking of an idea to make the whole thing stand out...... watch this space, but it does
involve red, and the gearbox as well.....
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Yes. Much better now.
Just being a Renault Fan, I always look forward at your pictures and progress.
I am sure, it will end up looking a beast.

You should easily see something like 180-200 bhp.
The only problems with these engines, there aren't a lot of aftermarket components as far as i am aware.

There are loads, and my calculated power figure is 230 at the moment.
There are loads of aftermarket performance parts for these engines, you just need to know where to look. They are £££ too.
Common upgrades are;
Cam regrind / Cat Cams upgrade
Uprated Pistons and Liners
Balanced & Knifedged crank with the flywheel
Aftermarket ECU / Powertune
Big Bore Exhaust
Cossie RS turbocharger (or bigger)
bigger boost
Last week (or the week before??) i saw an engine like mine run just over 300bhp on an engine dyno. This was at a mild tune, and more could be
achieved. It cost £8K to build.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Yes, my bad again. You can indeed find aftermarket parts as you mentioned.
It's the £££ of pounds that you need to spend that kept me from looking.
Most of the time, i was looking to find Renault replacement upgrade components.
