GAS AND ELECTRIC

How much!!!!.Looks like its time to change supplier.Npower looks the cheapest option.Spoke to my current supplier and tried to do a deal (southern electric) but no deal .She warned me off Npower but not sure if it sour grapes or they are dodgy.Your opinions please, like to buy both from one company if poss.

Currently with EDF, they were the cheapest at the time and even though they were the first major supplier to hike their prices last year, they are still cheaper than most. Having said that, it depends which of their products you are on.

You can do a comparison at moneysavingexpert.com IIRC (or moneysupermarket perhaps?)

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Npower have taken almost £400 to much off my direct debit and I have been trying to get it back since Novermber , you should keep away from them! I am now with ebico as there is no standing charge! ( I know I pay more per unit , but I'm in control and I dont use much!!)

I won't pay by direct debit any more, due to previous suppliers taking too much. I know that I lose a bit, but I do get a reasonable discount for paying promptly, so it's not very much.

They're all sh*te, just go for the cheapest

It says something when the top rated supplier for customer satisfaction only gets 60% or so....

Yeah, cheapest and use sites like www.quidco.com to get cashback for switching either direct from the supplier or a price comparison website.

I managed to fix my prices at some point last year just before they shot up so while colleagues have had ~£400 to £500 gas bills alone for the last quarter mine was about £130 (but then I've also beefed up insulation and thermostatic room valves etc etc).

They are coming back down a bit at the moment but I still don't think they've come down below the point where I fixed yet so not worth switching again yet.

When ever I've compared prices of gas and electricity for my sister (I don't have gas) I've always found that one supplier will be signifcantly cheaper for gas but another will be cheaper for electricity (now thats not fixed at all is it...... ) If you prefer to get all your gas/elec from one supplier (for extra discounts) the only way to get accurate prices is to make sure you use your actual usage over a year (by going through a years worth of bills) for any quotes.
