Custom driveshafts
Hi All,
Has anyone out there got any experience on shotening driveshafts or making hybrid ones?
The route I'm going is Audi transaxle and Porsche hubs, was thinking either 944 or 928, does anyone know if the PCD of the 928 hub is the same
as the 944? From memory (which is getting worse) I recall that the PCD on the Audi box is larger, well it is on the RS4 quatro box that I measured,
are all Audi driveshaft PCDs the same?
One lst thing, did I once read that Audi driveshafts are hollow, if so could this lend itself to sleeving two shafts together, just thinking out
aloud.
Any ideas would help me decide one the hub to use as the Audi box idea is the most economical route I think, unless someone knows different,
Thanks folks

I got recommended this person for custom driveshafts, unsure if they are able to assist you.

Not used them myself.

Last time i asked Berrisford where only doing expensive shafts at 170ish each.
There is a place in coventry (Dave Mac Propshafts) that makes audi / other drive shafts for about 140 ish each.
(there prices are from about a year ago)

You could of course use the Audi hubs and just have them redrilled to the PCD that you want, any half decent machine shop should be able to do it. HTH

To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy
