Anybody know what this is?

A friend found this in his Dads garden:

He thinks it's a one off, but I was wondering if it was based on an obscure kit?

He says:

quote:

Most of the bits are sourced either from a Mini or a MK1 Fiesta, with the suspension designed around Jaguar items apparently, a little bit of research will be involved there.

So I was wondering if anybody could offer him some help, i'll direct him this way if anybody has anything.

Cheers

Dan

Or sell it to Douglas Valley Breakers and have them do it instead... that's got to be worth £10k (in their world!).

That'll be my car then.

It was built circa 15-20 years ago by a chap who used to do sprints and hill climbs in his youth, it had been a pipe dream of his for many years, until he finally gave his designs to a local builder to have the chassis built, followed up by a trip to Westland Aerospace/GKN's stress test department to have the appropriate gussets etc. added

It has been garaged for its entire life, except the last year where it was pushed outside and covered up to make space for a new car, most of the muck/rust is superficial, there is nothing serious.

The top shock pins are bent because there are temporary solid bars in there currently, and it has been sat on them for a good 10-15 years.

It will be stripped, tidied up and rebuilt, before finally being finished from what was left the first time it was built.

Wow, you have struck it lucky there!

Thats a famous "Kanardly" - some famous people were called in on that design such as Alec Issigonis and Colin Chapman.

Issigonis was responsible for the use of a BMC motor of course and Chapman for the chassis and as you can see the shock support gave up just as it crossed the finish line, true to Chapman's name.

I suggest you quit your job right now because after you get it onto Ebay and pass it on you will be on easy street for many years.

It's coming....

I'm not sure if I'm just being ignorant or you're winding me up.

As far as I know, the chassis was built by a local garage....
