Hi Ianz18avon

See below from an earlier post, these people might help???

Regards

Nik

bike carbs.

I all just to let you know we will be supplying bike carb kits for pinto/zetec ready to ship in a couple of weeks. at www.shinybitz.co.uk

Running the current setup on the pinto £165bhp seen at the wheels is a realistic figure ( obviously not standard engine!)

No flat spots either, alot easier to maintain than the old 45's!!!

Anyone interested in the kits can e-mail me at roger@shinybitz.co.uk or ring on 07720713885. Prices yet to be finalised but using this setup along with a megajolt ignition will half the costs currently charged by some.

Happy building!

Got the 2lt zetec and will go bike carb's. (cheaper than 45, and less hassle)

My boss has a set of R6 carbs up for sale, but not sure if they will be big enough for the engine!

Having said that he races an R6 powered F2 side car outfit with the nuts tuned of it and the carb are restricted down to 32mm from 36mm to conform with the reg's.

His 600's are putting out about 110 -115 bhp.

If they are to small though i will go for R1 or the like's

The 36mm may run the motor fine but most people will recomend 38mm+..
mine are 40mm from the r1 ....
40mm carbs do not have to cost the earth although due to demand they are more costly .I just missed out on a set of 40's from a zx9 which went for £26...Mine where £60 from a breakers on ebay they came with proper receipt......
