The final touch - Kimini on track

After 9 years of design and construction, I finally took the mid-engine Mini out on track. I'm very happy with how it handles:

Seems to handle pretty well!
Good choice of track, lots of run off. Wouldn't want to damage it after 9yrs effort!!

Very nice, Certainly can trash a set of tyres quick. Who sweeps the track?

Wonderful! You have got to be one proud papa! The little beast sounds mean, really mean. I like it.

The tires are a little misleading. This set is 10yrs old (really) and was the first component for the design I bought. They've been on the car for a year now, running autocrosses and some serious cornering. The construction of them is such that the outer half had grooves, but they were about 1/3 the depth of the inner grooves. So while they look like my camber's all messed up, they're actually wearing really even. I think I have one more track event left in them...

Nice car and it seems to perform well

Your driving didn't look that scary to me, but your passenger seems to have had his fingers crossed for the entire lap!

I really enjoyed exploring the video. Especially to see the Norton Shrike out there. Then I checked the Shrike website and got Dave's cut on the day out. All excellent stuff. Great track for a bit of testing. Below is my car in-car vid at a track day here in NZ if anyone interested. same car and track as avitar
Cheers, Brian
