New world indoor speed record - Grasser!!
BBC Link
Well done to Phil Cooper!
Have a look at the video and then think about what it's like racing seven other cars from a clutch start on a 1/4 mile oval on grass/mud
For info, this is a Class 9 which is car engine only to a maximum of 2060cc with no forced induction and running on pump fuel.

Excellent video!
Andy
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Pah, NS Dev's class 9 does that in the length of his garage..........
although if you've seen his garage its as big as the NEC
(damned impressive when you remember top gear where trying to get the record in a F1 car at Earls court last year)

Decent Hillclimb cars are doing 60mph at 64ft distance from a standing start.
I would have thought Willem Toet's Pilbeam (did a 1.64 sec 64 ft at Shelsley) would have taken the record no problem.

Rotten Sods! Never invited me to play, I can hit 90 in the length of my drive!!!
Trouble is then I wake up!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Good little vid, but am I missing something?
'indoor speed record' so find a bigger room!
The Mastercare depot up the road here must be 1000m long.... Can I use my Blackbird
The reckless man may not live as long......
But the cautious man does not live at all.....
