rell,

ther was a good post recently under donor cars, titled renault 21 transaxle i think.

a search on transaxle throws up some good results too.

some audi's, volvo's, renulats and subarus had transaxles at some point in the past. otherwise there are companies that sell adapters/bellhousing for rover v8's etc to the vw beetle gearbox and the like...

Ned.

just saw this on ebay, a saab transaxle by the loks of it. just for info BTW...

ned just looked at them all and there is no tuning place for the v6 I have been told you can get 500 bhp out of one probably with a silly size turbo with 3 years of lag befor it dose eneything so i will go for about 300 bhp (nuf for me thanks)

someone said you could mate a renault gearbox to a rover v8 dose eney one know how dose the kit. the only thing with that i think i will have to spend more money to get the power i whant

Ok, here's a great idea. Do like this guy did;

http://www.4agte.com

Use a 4agez block, build your own turbo manifold, add a turbo and some bits, then build your own ignition and fueling system and crank the boost! 275HP at the rear wheels without even tuning the system!

It is by far the least expensive way to make cheap HP from a lightweight engine I have ever seen.

I think I will end up with something like this for my car.... someday

(BTW Rell - for cheapness - use a transverse Transaxle)
