All, I am in the process of fitting a universal cat inside my MK silencer.
When I took it apart I found that the white 'wadding/packing' material inside was in plastic bags!?
This was a little bit of a surprise - is this normal for exhaust packing? - does it not all melt when you first fire up the engine or is it a high
temp plastic? To me I don't see how the wadding can do its job in a plastic bag - but I stand to be corrected!?
Chris
It will burn off the first time you fire up. No big deal (although it does smell).
When I repack the exhaut I use sellotape to keep the roll of wadding tight - it just burns off.

yup, nothing to worry about, mk told me it stnks when you 1st fire up
try not to breathe too much in when you start it...it does stink a bit...might aswell take it out though
