danny keenan - 6/7/11 at 06:25 PM

i have now got the championship lead in the north west sports saloons.

i had abit of an up and down weekend.

in the first race i was on pole, but got a bad start and lost out on a place.i was in second place until i got hit from behind.which cause me to pit with a blown fuse.
i ended up 3 laps down and 3rd in class.

The second race i did abit better.i finished second overall and firts in class.

paul fisher should have a video up later of the second race.

all comments welcome

thanks danny

danny keenan - 6/7/11 at 07:33 PM

il be there andy.
hopefully i should have i new set of slicks.as iv only been running on second hand ones at £10 each lol.
iv never tried a new set before so i wonder what the difference would be

Steve Hignett - 6/7/11 at 07:37 PM

As above, well done Danny!

LBMEFM - 6/7/11 at 07:42 PM

Good man Danny, keep it up

TimC - 6/7/11 at 07:58 PM

Congratulations...

Not wishing to tempt fate, but assuming that you won the NW Championship, do you think you might look for a new challenge? It would be great to see a factory MK entry in RGB.

Buy brand new slicks, and it's guaranteed to rain for the rest of the year!

I wonder how many races you get out of new slicks, before the performance drops to second hand tyre level? I would imagine the ones we buy off ebay etc, will only have done one meeting on a Formula Renault or BMW..

tim

im not that keen on rgb.if i was going into something else it would be the mag 7s.i just like beating chaterhams with twice as much money in there car as me
and to say i have a car thats not ment to hand with wrong dampers and no develpoment in the last 10 years its not bad.
well thats according to some people

andy
on the secondhand ones i get 6 meetings out of a set.so if i get a couple more on a new set i would be happy.
just hope they would give me abit of an advantage on a new set

thanks danny

Just managed to get the video loaded, the sound on the video was poor, but can't get the sound working anyway for some reason

shame about the sound paul.il have to get onto go pro to see whats wrong with it.
thanks for putting it up.
next time you get some free time you can have some free tickets for our race meeting

thanks danny

Andy D - 9/7/11 at 07:36 AM

Yep, the lack of sound does spoil it a bit. That V8 lotus has some grunt hasn't it!

It's a bit worrying about the go pro. Since Pete bought his at the start of the year, I've heard about a few failures.

There is no pride in beating overweight business men in Caterhams who have wallets far larger than their driving talent.

The place to race Bike engined cars and truly see how competitive you are is RGB !!

Just a friendly piece of gaoding.

Seriously though, it would be great to see a competitive MK Indy in RGB, it should be possible to do well in our front engined class (Class F). You'll just have to give up the slicks and Busa.

Well done on your results so far this year.

Hi

From the discussions taking place at the Autosports show this year i understand it to be that MK would not run a Indy R in RGB due to the lack of pace when running to RGB regulations but, was told that they would be on the RGB grid in 2012 with an all new full body car of some kind. That will help bring the grid up a bit higher and be the place to see bike engined cars being developed for this great championship.

Cheers Matt

A full bodies MK in RGB?

Would be great to see!

procomp - 11/7/11 at 04:41 PM

Hi

I don't think that was what Ian was describing to me whilst we where chatting about the project. Still even that couldn't be as anti aero as the RAW fulcrum.

Cheers Matt

daniel mason - 11/7/11 at 05:26 PM

what series does the red mnr v8 run in?

procomp - 11/7/11 at 05:35 PM

Hi

That's Matthew Lewis with the MNR V8. He's running in whats left off the 750Mc Kitcar championship. Although that has been opened up to allow one offs and specials and runs with the SR&GT series to make the grids for both look acceptable.

Cheers Matt
