Bizarro - 7/9/12 at 05:38 PM

Had last week off work and managed to make some good progress on my Indy.

Still a few things to do like trim, mirrors, front/side indicators, aero screen, cat, bonnet catches etc... but generally pleased with my progress.

Im pre IVA so any comments, critisism or praise appreciated

real nice build there...

just a couple of things..

do the front arches come down far enough at the back of the wheel,

relays under dash on passenger side will need covering

not sure on radius edge on speedo/rev counter

will toggle switch on tunnel be ok

some people have failed IVA with grooved gear knobs I believe

really does look good thou

Thanks..

I positioned the front arches so they are level with the front of the tyre, looking at IVA manual I believe the rear of the arch should be 50 degrees or max 150mm from the centre of the wheel. If Im reading this right they should be OK, but if Im not then please let me know.
I do think they look better further back but wanted to be sure about covering the tyre.

I wasnt sure about the toggle switch, its for the indicators as I wanted to get away from the Ford column switch. Spose I could use mimi type guard around it to be sure?

Put big O rings in the grooves of the gear knob then it should be fine. I have a toggle switch on the tunnel aswell for the indicators. All i did was put switch guards either side so the sphere couldn't touch it.

10 out of 10 for that dash.. Looks very nice. Best I have seen..

great detail mate

Looks great.

I am not sure about the handbrake lever if it is being left uncovered.

With reference to the switch guards for indicator switch on tunnel.
I do not know how much the mini ones cost, but I have purchased stainless ones from the
US for $6.99 each. Excellent service.
www.periheliondesign.com.

Just make sure you select the 5mm diameter ones for IVA....

Mine are from perihelion too. I bought a few from CBS then found that the perihelion design ones are exactly the same and a load cheaper.

Davegtst that is one stunning dash!! What edging have you used around your clocks and gear indicator? I can't even see the join!

Cheers,

Ben

Why thank you kind sir. It's u trim from cbs, I tried other u trim from ebay but it didn't bend round the corners aswell. If you look closely the join is at the very bottom center.

Davegtst: seriously lovely piece of work. I just wonder how many hours? I'm not even remotely saying they're wasted, more saying craftmanship has its price.

What's your background? Did you have extra skills to bring to this great piece of work?

Davegtst - 9/9/12 at 09:22 PM

Thanks again although I can't see what the fuss is about. To be honest I don't think the dash took that long to make. The carbon dash is from mk alli did was cut holes in it and bolt and glue things on.

FuryRebuild - 10/9/12 at 09:33 AM

I feel a monty python sketch coming on.

When I got my fury all they had were the really simple slab sided dash boards.

I don't know if they've improved on them at all.

What gear shift indicator are you using and how did you fix it in its position?

Davegtst - 11/9/12 at 08:03 PM

It's a healtech gipro. It's only held in place by the U trim being a very tight fit.

Sorry bizarro looks like your thread has been a bit hijacked.

Yeah, I think it needs to be retitled 'davegtst's dash' !!

One of the best dashes you'll ever see. Beautiful design, and that includes the tunnel cover.

mad-butcher - 16/9/12 at 08:37 AM

I would be seriously concerned about driving with front arches like that, spray off the roads and flicking stones at me, but I haven't read the the new IVA regs to be honest
