Those of you with a full windscreen on your MK, can you tell me if you have bolted the mounting brackets directly to the fibre glass scuttle or have you mounted through the scuttle into the steel chassis?

Through the scuttle into a 4mm thick ally plate, padded out with Metalik filler to form the curve.

Mine was through the scuttle onto a back plate

Just through the scuttle with some large washers on the back. Been like that for years with no issues.
