Aero Screen
greggors84 - 21/10/03 at 02:42 PM

Where can i get a nice shaped aero screen, that will make it a bit bearable to drive without a windscreen.

I have seen a nice curved one in black, cant remember where i saw it though, which is no help at all.

Also i dont want to pay caterham/westfield prices.

Thanks

I heard someone talking about a small wind deflector made by MK???
Is this correct???

bikkel - 21/10/03 at 06:51 PM

I've seen the MK aeroscreen .
looks crap; a GRP copy of the westfeld screens.but doesn't come close to that.

I've seen the MK Aeroscreen too...

Let's say - there's room for improvement.

(Trying not to cause controversy)

If you can wait till after xmas i will be selling these:-

Sorry the picture is not very good we are still only making the buck (picture shows screen fitted to the scuttle). The top edge of the screen will also be a little lower when its finished.

It will be perfect fit for an MK and be held on by hidden bolts.

Once the thing is finished i will post somemore pics

Austin,

forgive my stupidity, is this an add on aeroscreen or a scuttle moulded with an aeroscreen?

I presume it's based on mk's bodywork, so would be interchangable with their grp?

thanks,

Ned.

Its an add on screen that will bolt/fit straight onto an MK scuttle.

What are other manufactures scuttles like compard to MK? Just wondering how it would fit a ST for example.

DaveFJ - 22/10/03 at 12:23 PM

found this picture in my archives of a Tiger Avon (being factory built) with a quite nice aero screen fitted. was thinking of something similair myself.....

It's actually the Avon they took to Donington for their stand.

youre right MK9R the picture isn't very good...i certainly dont see any screen???
or did you just polish it

JoelP - 22/10/03 at 06:12 PM

i was gonna say that but i assumed i had the wrong end of the stick, or that he was selling scuttles... ah well. wrong pic?

MK9R - 23/10/03 at 06:38 AM

Just realised it does look like just a scuttle Thebrown clay shape is actually a aero screen that rises about 100mm above the scuttle. The first layer of fibreglass was laid onto the buck last night, so i should get some better pictures of a finished one soon.

Hellfire - 23/10/03 at 09:01 PM

..and I was on my way to 'Specsavers' as I couldn't see a screen either! Thanks for pointing it out Austen...

monkey - 8/11/03 at 06:57 PM

what sort of price do you think you'll be asking?

Peteff - 8/11/03 at 08:14 PM

It might show better from a different angle, it does look like a normal scuttle from there.

MK9R - 10/11/03 at 07:48 AM

Once the first screen is finished i will let you know, i should think it will be around £40

mad4x4 - 12/11/03 at 02:08 PM

I'm guessing that will be for a pair? ( one for left and one for right?

MK9R - 12/11/03 at 02:09 PM

its a one piece screen (full width)

MikeR - 12/11/03 at 05:30 PM

well its a bit premature for me but i could be very interested!

Mk-Ninja - 12/11/03 at 06:17 PM

Donut

That aeroscreen looks great...
What is the total height of them.....?

Anyone seen them mounted on an Indy?
Pics?

donut - 20/1/04 at 07:57 AM

Hi

Not sure about the height, prob 4" or so but looks ok on the car. Not sure how effective either as i'm not going to use it.
