What are people’s opinions on this engine?

When I first heard about a 1400 Kwaker I was very excited about the potential for car use. When I saw the spec though, I was a bit disappointed to see max power at only 9500rpm. Clearly more cc’s equals more mass equals lower revs but my mates old 1.8L Honda Integra Type-R used to get up to almost 9,000rpm. Also, I ‘think’ the Hayabusa max power is 11,000rpm.

Without a doubt a ZZR1400 would make for a stonkingly fast car and the extra torque would make it easier to drive over the 900cc/1 litres engines but I can’t help but feel that such a relatively low revving bike engine distracts a little from the whole BEC experience, or the “12,000rpm Orchestra” as someone on this forum so eloquently once put it.

I’m sure some will feel that it has the potential to be a good compromise between BEC and CEC and they are probably right but I wander if anyone else has an opinion on this?

Has anyone started a build with one yet? I bet one blast in the passenger seat and I would be eating my words!

This isn’t a criticism of Kawasaki either, the bike is blatantly more of a tourer than a supersport and I’m sure the engine is perfect for it’s intended use.
