Velocity Rear Wheel Offset
Dave Bailey - 16/4/09 at 08:02 PM

I have some Compomotive MO's ET35 15X7 for the rear of my Velocity and I fitted them today. The problem is that they Stick out of the arches. With the 205 tyre I have on the wheel I will need to change to about a 50 offset which seems a big change. What offset have people been able to use on the rear?

thanks
Dave B

Not sure - but I have 16" and 225 on the rear of mine with TSW EVO's - I've got no choice but to extend the arches...

I'm either going to cut/shut (tricky) or just make an aluminum spacer and bolt straight through it needs to be about 40mm though

(chassis/spacer/arch)

Next year when the bank balance is replinished probably get some made up in Carbon Fibre

Im not sure but i have a set of peugeot offset wheels which Grant (old luego) assured would fit ok but im now wondering if he was telling me the truth ??

Will find out when i eventually get round to building it i suppose

Hi Andy,

A friend had Peugot wheels 16" on his Luego (ex-demonstrator) and they fitted fine

So fingers crossed you should be ok

I am using Ford offset which I believe to be ET38 and 195 tyres, this fits the wheel arch fully. If the difference between ET35 and ET38 is 3cm (is it that obvious?) then I guess you'll need a rear wing that is 3cm wider. I cut and expanded the wings on my last build and it was easy enough to do but I did have to spray the end result, can you obtain spraying equipment? Good luck.

I'm sure that the offset is measured/quoted in mm rather than cm. Otherwise the difference in offset between a cortina-type wheel and a sierra-type wheel would be about 19cm!

I've got the Velocity XT and have just had to buy a set of alloys with an offset of 49mm just to get them to fit under the arches.

My previous set with an offset of 30mm 'stuck out' by about 10mm

hmmm.... just found this website http://www.alloyguide.com/Peugeot.php with a list of peugeot offsets.

I've got a suspicion that 38mm will not be enough.
