Early progress with the build
SteveWallace - 15/2/10 at 09:58 PM

Hi Guys,

I've been 'radio silent' for a while as I wanted to have some progress to show before I started to post.

Apparently I am still supposed to have a social life so weekends have not all been devoted to building. However, progress has been made with most mechanical parts sourced, the dif, drive shafts and rear hubs reconditioned (see pic) and a few bits rivited to the chassis.

I didn't want to overload the posting secion of the site, so I have put other pictures in the Photo Archive.

I would appreciate any views on whether I've made any early gaffs! Rescued attachment drive shafts and hubs.jpg

one mistake, post as many pics as you can in your posts! We like to see pics!! (and many of us are too lazy to flick through the photo album )

So long has you have not painted the matting surfaces looks good (i.e. hub to disk etc.)..

If you haven't sorted it already check your crush tubes. A lot easier to sort it out now rather than having to strip the suspension later to do it. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll post future pics in the forum before I put them in the archive. Pic of floor attached

Just picking up on each of your comments

i) I've avoided painting the mating surfaces
ii) The colour is just one of Hamerites metalic blues. My body panels are a darker blue, so hopefully it will work well
ii) I've checked the crush tubes. I think that they are OK, but I have not tried to properly build the suspension yet. I have a set of shims and Ben from Luegos advice is that the crush tubes should stick out about 0.25mm. Rescued attachment floor 2.jpg
