I've got a luego velocity with Toyota 4age fitted with Weber twin 40s. Can't get it to idle and keeps cutting out at junctions unless I keep
the revs up.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to set it up?
.Dave Walkers book on engine management covers setting up Webers IIRC but you may get better results if you stick a set of bike carbs on it?
welcome fella hope you come to forresburn for a wee drag up the hill...
Welcome to the madhouse !,
as said webbers are notoriousley difficult to get setup properly, bike carbs could be a good option ??

Thanks guys, would rather stick to the webers if possible, but what bike carbs do you suggest?
What is the idle speed set to?
Does it idle at standstill? i.e. is it just coming up to junctions when it dies?
It Cuts out standing still, you got to keep the revs up. What to do you suggest to set the idle speed up too ?
different engine - mine is a pinto with a 285 cam. Idle set to 1100.
First thing I would do is get a ballance metre and ensure they are ballanced front and back.
If they are out of ballance, it can upset the idle.
obvious question - but have they ever run right?
Thanks for that, I will try and get a meter they where o/k for at the start when out on the road it goes great.
it's not too difficult to use a ballance meter to do basic tuning. i.e. ballance and mixture.
takes a little practice and patience. On the other hand I have screwed mine up really badly once and had to get a garage to fix them
we live and learn...
o/k will give it a try let you know how I get on.
Could be fuel vapourisation from the hot engine. Does it do it all the time or just after it has warmed up?? Also where does it gets its air feed from?? if it is the enclosed engine bay then the hot air intake could be leaning it out to much.
It dose it all the time hot or cold, the air comes in through the bulge in top of the bonnet
Is it mounted with thackery washers etc?? could be perished/air leak
Look o/k but will double check. Thanks
