Lt77 Speedo Drive
Irony - 10/12/10 at 11:16 AM

Only a couple more jobs and my V8 is going in! Just praying I have put it together right. Couple of bits I have got to sort are:

Bell housing to block bolts
Gearbox Oil.
Speedo Drive

There is a huge hole at the back of the LT77 that I think is for the original speedo drive. I was thinking I would need some sort of blanking plate for this as I was intended to not use Rover instruments. What did you guys do????

Going to Rimmers tomorrow so if you guys think of anything else.........

Used the std Rover electronic sender, with a Caerbont (from greengauges.co.uk) speedo, works well and is one of the best calibrated speedos the SVA man had seem for a while. ie dead on at 30 and 70mph.

Standard gearbox with a 80mm speedo from ETB Instruments. Needed a resistor adding into the circuit, but it is fully documented/diagramed on the ETB website.

This might help with the bellhousing bolts linky

The electronic senders for the LT77 are hard to find and expensive. If you don't need to use it then just blank it off with a metal disc and a circlip.

This might help re the gearbox oil linky - I would have a search around that site for other thoughts on the gearbox oil
