Viento build diary

Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of any web sites containing a build diary of the Luego Viento?

I'm also interested to know from people that have built a Viento how much it cost in total and how easy the build was.

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

I don't have a diary as such, but my website shows a number of photos of the various stages of the build. See link below. (click on the pictures under the 'build sections' page.)

So far the build has been fairly straight forward. I have problems with the gearbox location as I have chassis no. 2 and the tunnel is narrower than the later models. Also the radiator brackets had to be modified so the Luego Rad would fit in the nose cone! Otherwise, it's going OK. One thing I will say is that it easy to work on in the sense that there is plenty of room to work on the components due to the size of the chasssis.

Regards the costs I will be drawing up a list fairly soon so keep an eye on the website. A ballpark figure would be somewhere around £7500 when I'm done. (Bought a part build kit which helped alot!!)

Anyway, feel free to ask questions about the Viento and I'll try to help

Hi James,

Thanks for the link and the info. Looks like you have been very busy with your build. What's all this about chassis no. 2?

Have you seen the weather kit for the Viento? I have yet to see a luego with one!

Hi Dave,

Chassis #2 is a couple of inches narrower in the transmission tunnel than the current chassis. This meant that I couldn't use the SD1 remote unit that I had, without either modifying the chassis or the remote itself, or mounting the engine way forward in the chassis. I went for the shorter Sherpa van remote!

Not seen a Luego with wet gear either. Maybe they will post pics on their website, or bring one to a show!!!
