Velocity R1

Hello

I'm building a Velocity with an R1 engine in it. Unfortunately my kit was delivered without engine mounts of any kind.
I'm now wondering what to do because when I try to put the engine in there and get it the right height it will not move enough to the left in the car. The oil filter and cooler hits the lower beam in the frame.
Is it possible/advisable to mount it 6cm higher to let the "engine go free of the frame ? Or is it better to relocate the oilfilter ang oil cooler (if possible) ?

Please advice.

Thanks
Bo

Hi, first question, did you ask Luego to fit any engine mounts or not? If not, you can't really complain can you?
As far as mounting your motor goes, if siting it six inches higher doesn't make it sit too high then do that, it's nice and simple. If you want it to sit down in the chassis for best weight distribution, get a remote filter mounting kit.

thanks for the replies.

Yes I will ask Luego for help as well.

Does anyone have any pictures of an R1 engine installation in a Velocity ?

Hi.

Sometime ago I asked if they had the mounts for the R1 or GSXR. They only had for the ZZR1100, and that's why I'll go to another manufacturer.
Also they would charge a lot more for being a BEC...

naahh what the hell,

i'm also a BEC er they didn't charge me any penny more!!

engine mounts? whats the problem with making them your self?

With the huge amount of possibilities today and computers and emule, kazaa etc. whats the problem? do they need to give you the food already pre eaten??

I'm building a velociry XT using a VFR 800 engine..and i'm doing also a pair of adjustments to the chasis (more engine plates) and diff problem (LSD DIFF 2.0 Cosworth problem..)

but who cares?

Just weld and if its wrong remove the weld and blast try again.. it will work.!!
