front swivel joint on Velocity XT

i have a small problem in that the front hub bottom swivel joint seems too big to fit into its socket in the cast upright. my friend and i have come to the deduction that it may be the wrong part, as it seems the taper is slightly too big (even once the paint and coating have been cleared). Can yanyone check to see if they have supplied the right part - the ones i have are - CG36 x 13 - 62. and also have CR11 printed on the rubber.

not sure entirely what parts you are using, but commonest is cortina or maxi balljoints, these do not fit into a sierra hub. You need to get the hub reamned out to a new taper, either 7 dergrees or 1 in 7 (i cant remember which!).

are you using sierra hubs? not hard to find a company to do the work.

If you are referring to the fit of the bottom front ball joint taper into the Sierra hub, then they will not fit the hubs as liberated from the Sierra.

The hub, bottom taper joint needs to be recut to a different size.

No I don't know what the spec of that taper is.... however Luego re-cut mine for me while I waited, using a simple pillar drill and a jig they have.

I assume if you bought wishbones etc from Luego, they will recut the taper for you. I think they are back from holidays 18th Oct. Suggest you give them a bell.

yes they are sierra hubs. All seems to make sense now. seems a little strange they dont mention this in the buid manual though ! (unless ive missed something somewhere)- I'll see what Luego say when they return from holiday. Thanks for the info.
