BMW Viento first start video
SteveWallace - 19/8/13 at 09:34 PM

I reached a major milestone today so I thought that I would post the traditional first start video. Didn't run it for long as it has no coolant in the radiator yet.

BMW Viento first start

Sounds a bit rough as it only has the original BMW exhaust manifolds attached and no exhaust system down stream of those. However, very please that it started on the first attempt, allowing for the fuel system to become primed. Even more pleased that the whole lot didn't burst into flames or spring leaks everywhere.

Its really starting to feel like a car now and the IVA is in sight...

Great feeling isn't it?

Well done Steve - that sounds even better than it looks (and it looks great)

Don't know if I'll make Donnington as family up but will try and get over to you soon.

Cheers, Neil.

Hi Neil, your welcome any time. And I still owe you an engine stand.

Sounds almost as good as a V8.
You cant beat a Straight 6 job. They do sound good.
Now... DONT spoil that nice soudtrack with too much silencing

SteveWallace - 16/9/13 at 08:23 PM

It sounds a lot louder in real life than on the video so some serious silencing is going to be needed to get through IVA. In fact, the neighbours came out of their house to see what was going on.

That said, I was pleasantly surprised with how good it sounded with only the original BMW exhaust manifold on, so your right, over silencing would be a bad idea
