This weekends endeavours

Been working in the Garage all weekend.
Total so far, is brake and fuel pipes in and secured. Steering rack fitted, downlink extended, and column fitted. Pedal box fitted.

No One tells you to do the clutch pedal and cable FIRST... as you have to take the brake pedal out to do it Grrrrr..

Never mind hope it saves someone else a bit of time. (Std Luego pedal box, used by many other kits as well). Nice pedal box, I am thinking of making a hatch in the engine bay shelf, as changing a clutch cable or brake master cylinder will be a PIG when its all finished.
Also you wont be able to get the Brake pedal / pivot bar (not the ballance bar) out without taking the whole side off the vehicle. Perhaps a discreet hole covered by a Badge or simmilar will do.

I'm knackered.... but will update the archy hive later.

Best to have a hatch above pedals. Scot lad and colibriman have found the value of having one.

I thought of that, so being far too clever for my own good, I set out to my local Steel stockist at 16:30 today. Wham!!! Straght into rush hour traffic, but this wasnt the normal quiet Monday Evening... Its Xmas Shopping MAD Rush hour traffic.
I got there just in time, but No Polished Stainless in stock, special order at £103 for 2 x 1 Metre. "Bugger" Said Pooh!.
It took me 3 hours to get No stainless sheet, No cable "P" clips, No metal cable ties. I got an Angry Grinder in B&Q, to replace the £12 cheapo I got from a market 7 years ago (rebuilt two rusty Land Rovers with it) so it has done well for the money and abuse. I nearly bought a pack of 15mm Plastic water pipe clips, Almost Ideal for the larger parts of the wiring loom, but wouldnt fit in with the other clips on the car.

So I need to order up some more clips!..

WHAT ?

Beaumont's didn't have any stainless?

That's like Newcastle with no coal.

No... Mackays in Cambridge.

Where is this other place Beaumonts then?
I wanted Mirror polished two bits 1110 x 330mm.

You dont have any nice shiny "off cuts" do you?.
I must admit I have no idea what that would cost me! I better do a bit more research on the price...

Mackays quoted me 2x1 Metre sheet mirror polished for £103 +Vat is that good?. - None in stock though!

I keep looking at my Silencers... I dare not fit them, just in case you check to see if they are still clean...
They Are.. and polished / cleaned every day, and then wrapped back up in the nice foamy stuff to keep them clean and not get them scratched

Have a nice Xmas..

don't get them out of the foam stuff and you won't see if they've got dirty, which they won't have as they won't have had fingers all over them

Ned.
