Your help please with a few Qu's!

Oi Oi

I'm starting to get stuchk into my build (at last) and I've now got a few questions that you folks might be able to help me answer - sorry if they have already been asked before though.
1) Does anyone have advice on where the rear loom needs to be positioned along the centre tunnel, i.e. a dimension or two would help a bit, I don't want to fix it in the wrong place!
2) Where should I find the black and white hand brake wire - can't seem to find it in the rear section of the wiring?
3) What's the best way to drill the 13.0 dia hole for the clutch cable - seeing as there is a chassis tube which stops you getting a drill in @ right angles to where the holes got to go?
4) Where's the best place to buy the 2 unions which the tubes from the reservoir connect too (screwed into the master cylinders)? (oh and how much should I pay)?
5) What type fuel pump should I go for, idea of cost and where should it be positioned? (I intend to initially use the std induction system on the 4AGE)?

Cheers in advance for your help!!
Rich

Hi
Im not sure about answers to all of your questions, but ill do my best to help with the things i can.
(im building a GTS with ford running gear, but the set-up sould be pretty similar i should imagine)
here goes....
1)ive fixed my rear loom along the top of the transmission tunnel alon the nearside (passenger side). be careful that it doesnt interfere with the handbrahe mechanism at all - im having to make a new bracket cuz mine interferes.
also, make sure that the leccys are on the opposite side of the tunnel to the fuel (SVA reasons) and fixed at least 300mm intervals.
if i were you, id avoid fitting the looms until as late as possible
2)this handbrke cable was part of the main loom in my loom (not part of the clip together rear/instrument/engine/lighting loom - it was coiled up and taped to the main loom - the huge mass of wires.
it should be near the 2 reversing light switch (if you have one) wires.my loom is a Premier wiring one, but i should think most are similar.
3) my kit already had all 3 cable holed pre-drilled. i know what you mean about needing to drill inaccessible holes!
4) if you cant find the unions (im guessing you mean the 'T' piece brake pipe ones) id get them form a donor /scrappy and clean them up, as most places charge a fortune for them (~£8 each, which i wasnt going to pay)
5) as my running gear is ford CVH, my pump is mechanical, but most people seem to use electric (not sure where it is located)
all the best
Tom

(i had to type this beast out twice, cuz my damn computer froze halfway through the 1st attempt :mad

http://www.europaspares.com/

the above site sell all sorts of brake unions

search for product EBPK1

pricey but you get unions + copper (2) wahers to connect to girling master cylinders and 1m of hose to connect to reservoir ( I needed a little more than this.) and clips for hose to unions.

I had the same problem, there is not a wire in the rear loom but there is a black and white one in the fwd loom that is shorter than the rest, run a wire from your h/brake micro-switch and join to this wire, test with a multimeter first for continuity. It should be linked to the reservoir low level sender, that is how the low level circuit is tested when the h/brake is applied, hope this helps

Is the hose Correctly Marked for the SVA ?

Paul (Notts) - 18/1/05 at 08:42 PM

Don,t know if the hose has any markings on it , will have a look tommorow.

What should it have marked on it for SVA ?

Got me worried now !!

The unions I'm after are available from Merlinmotorsport but they want £6.99 each!!
