Hi All
Anybody got a reccomendation for someone to produce an alloy fuel tank for my Viento
Im in the NE Scotland so somewhere up here would be usefull but not essential
Given the size of the car and its V8 engine i was hoping for something around 40l , the standard fuel tanks are a bit small, ive got the space in the
rear of the car.
I got one made from a guy in Peterhead for my last Viento but that was 14 years ago and i cant find him
Thanks in advance
john
I was surprised how small they are as well. Looks smaller than the one in the Locost.
I’ve bought a Locost sized one from this guy on eBay eBay Item
Cheap and cheerful with no leaks.
There are other firms.
There is a guy on here, user name deno.
There is Obp near me that originally made the Viento.
I would be interested in what you go for as I will want one for mine. It’s been butchered a few times with different senders.
HI John,
Where about in the North east are you? i'm in Inverbervie and currently building a Viento. I dont suppose you have done a dash panel yet? Was
wandering if anyone has bought any of the grp blank panels from the kit car sites, and if they will fit the larger Viento?
Thanks Mike
My local fibre glass guy said he would have a go at a wider one for me. But the standard sized locost / mk one is know where near.

Hi , I'm near Alford
This is my second viento ( glutton for punishment )
The last dash I built used 6mm marine plywood and covered with foam then vinyl , came out ok and met the requirement for the soft edge around
drivers knees, it's also easy to work and if you screw up it's cheap to replace
You got a fuel tank yet?
John
Can I ask what seats you guys are using ?
I made a buck up out of chipboard and Trev Davis made the tank out of alli for me. chipboard buck :-
Locost fuel tank ?
Finished Tank :-
Fuel Tank pornography 1
It did just fit in through the top of the boot and was about 12 gallons. with an anti surge pot on the bottom with the fuel take off.
That looks the business,
My engine is not fuel injected so just need an 8mmm outlet and a level guage hole,
12 gallon is plenty big enough

Hi John,
I got mine from a guy on ebay that made them to order, I just gave him my dimensions and where i wanted the outlets and he did a great job at a
reasonable price. I will keep searching through my emails to see if i can find his details. Wasa i haven't bought seats yet, was going to be
getting the set from Scottish kit car centre, they have some real smart ones at good prices. I would prefer to buy a dash panel rather than make one,
if anyone knows of one that will fit? also what headlights have you bought for your kits? Not sure what size of headlights were on the original kit?
Thanks Mike
Hi Mike
I have a pair of black Mamba Seats with adjustable runners as theres plenty of room in the cockpit ,
The headlights I used last time were black bowl 7" headlights, they had the appropriate markings for IVA test and were ok to fit, not sure if
I'll use the same as the last car was 14 years ago and lights have moved on a bit with LED options.

Did you get one made ?
I am going to need one. The guy that built mine used a 5~6 gallon Locost sized one and its knackered. Looks like the car has slipped of a trolley jack
onto the tank.
5 gallon with a 3.0 v6
These guys built a 10Gal tank for me:

Sent them the design
Thanks,
Any chance you can remember the dimensions you used please ?
Cheers warren.
