Any one go any ideas about what size bolts will fit into the gear box end of a rover v8 to fix it onto an engine stand.
Thanks Paul.
same ones that hold the bell housing to the engine. if you have those, and you will need them, you have the right size. just need to confirm length,
and that is determined by the stand.

Got the bellhousing bolts but not long enough to go through the stand into the engine.
thought they were M8's and got some longer ones but these are too small. will try some M10 next weekend but suspect the may be imperial.
suspect they may be 3/8 U.N.C. but it has been a while since I last removed / fitted any
Correct they are 3/8unc I had to buy 4 the other day 3 1/2 inches long.
Dave
Thanks for the help.
The 3/8unc 3 1/2 inches long work perfectly with somw large spacer washers.
Paul.
Now I just need to strip and rebuild the engine..................
Glad you found some - For anyone else having the same problem - the rocker shaft bolts will also suffice for this.

You can also get away with 3/8 whitworth as they are the same pitch and dia. UNC is correct. Whit bolts are NOT cheap!.
Engine stand is well worth it when rebuilding... saves a lot of problems and potential accidents.
