Rear track difference between Velocity and Luego?
Mave - 9/6/05 at 06:07 PM

I was just wondering; how come the Viento has a larger rear track (1610 mm) than the Velocity (1490 mm) while the both use the same Sierra running gear?!?

Different off set wheels maybe...i always wondered though thought i was being thick...glad i aint the only one.....

I believe the half shafts are shortened on the Velocity, but you would need to ask Matt at Luego to confirm!

The original Velocity used shorten drive shafts but the current Xt variant uses standard shafts.

As wicket says plus the viento has wider wheels..

Book says 235 tyres on the rear of a Viento.. Sorry cant say for a Velocity.. I dont have one

Only the tyre width is not enough to explain the 120 mm difference. Or should you use zero-offset wheels, and maybe spacers?

i was looking on the website earlier (drooling) and the viento has a different offset on the wheels and probably larger wheels to boot

I'm building a haynes roadster and tried installing sierra cosworth 4x4 rear diff and drive shafts, BUT the drive shafts are around 1" too long. Therefore I guess a vehicle using cosworth trany will be 2" wider than a standard sierra based car.
