Finished all the wiring this evening... and it all works. Except for one dip beam... as the filament has blown. I'll treat the car to a pair of
new bulbs tomorrow.
Next job is to do the front mudguards, and there isnt much room for error. This is harder than all the wiring put together
I agree, I have just sorted my wiring,
And like you are having more worry about cycle wings. and cutting the hole for the chimney.

Re the front mudguards:
SVA wise, are you aware that the edges of the mudguard that cover the top outer edge of the tyre have to protrude far enough so that when you hold a
spirit level vertically against the mudguard rim, there is clearance over the whole wheel.
some alloys protrude further than the tyre towards the centre, so you may think because the tyre is well covered you are ok, but do not take into
consideration the alloy wheel.
Luckily I found out before the SVA by talking to the SVA chappie in Nottingham who is very familiar with Luego cars. He mentioned a few things to look
out for and one of these was the mudguards.
Luego's original mudguards were, in addition to being too narrow to cover the wheel, also not long enough to cover the front edge of the wheel
rim whilst being on the centre line of the hub at the rear of the mudguard.
If you have the old style they will definately fail. Luego supplied me with replacements (after I had fitted the originals and realised all was not
well)
Make sure you check before fitting as I had some real fun and games to fit the replacements. I reckon it was ,apart from the wiring, the most tedious
part of the build.

The front edge of the cycle wing (mudguard) has to be in front of the alloy rim (not the tyre) when viewed from the side. To test this, place a
24" long spirit level (or plumb line)vertically against the front edge of the mudguard. The front edge of the rim of the alloy should be behind
the line/datum edge of spirit level(being held level with the front extremity of the mudguard)
Also check that the side of the mudguard(cycle wing) protrudes far enough to clear not only the tyre but also the alloy wheel face.

I know exactly where the mudguards must be / go. However, the tolerance does not give much room for error. ie its tight all round. meaning you need to
get it exactly in the right place first time.
Thats the real problem.
could one of you possibly measure your cycle wings from your viento as I think I may have the old style, look quite small to me and I haven't got
wheels yet.
If I have got small one's I might as Luego if they could bring new ones to Stoneleigh

Just been down the garage, my mudguards are 205mm wide, and 765mm long measured on the outside of the curve.
I believe they may be for 15" rims, however I have 17" rims and the guards are just not long enough to meet the SVA regs. I have fabricated
a couple of mudflaps out of a plastic oil can to get by.
If I were you I would borrow a 15" wheel / tyre and see if they are OK.
Then SVA with some cheapo steelies 15" or even smaller, then put on some nice wheels later.
It will get you round the problem.
However, I put my SVA papers in last week, before I had fitted the guards, so cant afford to mess about timewise.

My rims are forward of the front vertical line by about 1 or 2 mm. however, the Back Lower line is approx 2" below where my guards end. Hence me
fabricating the mudflaps. I want to get it resolved but have to be ready for the call to the SVA centre, which will be very soon as the paperwork has
been in over a week now.
I dont expect to pass first time, but have made the effort to do so if all goes well and I have not missed anything.
