Velocity Oil Pressure Gauge

Hi,

From the very beginning of wiring in the oil pressure gauge and sender, when ever the ignition is turned on the gauge just goes right to the top. Even if i take the connectors off the sender, no change...

anyone else had this problem or know what i might have done wrong?

few tips?

Make sure the body of the sender / engine block has a good earth.

Test your sender wire with a continuity tester.

are you using the correct sender i.e. the one that came with the gauge.

Mine was a VDO one that was doing the same thought it was a broken wire but turned out to be a duff sender.

Had exactly the same problem on mine - ETB gauges and sender for a 4AGE - ordered a new sender and hey presto - it now works!!!

where did you order the new sender from?

I'm assuming you've got the gauges from Luego so they are the ETB ones- mine are and I ordered a replacement sender from ETB - just be careful when you connect it up (check the wiring is the right way round with a meter first)......

could wiring it up wrong b*gger the sender up then?

Well - when I connected up the two wires to the sender - I didn't check first which was which - so as to whether it buggered the sender or whether the sender was duff - I'm none the wiser - I do know though that as soon as it was replaced and the wiring checked before it was connected - the pressure gauge now works a treat!
