Fitting the Prop Shaft
Rubin - 8/5/06 at 05:07 PM

Spent a couple of hours yesterday trying to get the thing in without success - considering taking diff out to get straight run but of course the bottom bolt is now obstructed by suspension/fuel pump.

Also fitting to the splined shaft seems very tight (new prop) - ok to get the dremel out ??

Any top tips out there

Have you fitted the engine/gearbox yet?
I fitted the rear suspension and diff and then the propshaft, from the front before fitting the engine/gaerbox.

Suspect you could be taking it all out again ? It may be possible to get it in with the diff out of the way but wouldn't want to bet on it

hi if you read luego build notes it says to remove drive shaft and move diff to make room for propshaft as tunnel is to narrow to take diff end of shaft

Heh - I nearly made that mistake.

You have 2 options

Option 1 - Do as leggo say

Option 2 - Engine crane, lift engine and move gearbox back enough to get propshaft in

Sorry neither option is a 5 minute job

Found out the hard way. When I built mine there was no build manual and Luego didn't supply props . Had to fit diff, engine and gearbox to measure length of prop required . Then had to pull the engine and box out to fit it
