can the sierra propshaft be used in the velocity? or will i have to source an escort propshaft?

I spoke to the guys at Luego yesterday, and they said I should get a new propshaft made up. This was done once at the rolling chassis stage, and they had a few phone numbers for companies who would do it.

They claimed about 80 quid to get one made, but that sounds a bit cheap to me?

Nah, they are easy to do.....especially for anyone set up for them.....80 quid ought to buy a good one.
