I am going to be fitting my hubs soon and wondered if i should change the studs now and if so how long?
Does it depend on what wheels i use or is there a "standard" length that all vientos need?

I have 15" black compomotives on my viento and even with zero offset they still sat in the arch a bit too far so i fitted some 20mm spacers and a set of long studs to suit. The wheels sit right out in the arch now and look great!
Also needed to replace the front ones aswell as the alloys i fitted there wasnt enough turns on the nuts But the front ones needed to be cut down slightly

Changed the front ones before fitting but now have to go back and change the back ones as the wheels need to be moved out by 10mm to fit the wings better and give a little more clerance from the shocks. Wish I had done this before fittin the rear hubs and drive shafts ....

I ended up with 63mm (2 3/8 inch) studs from Merlin Motorsport as the ones on the standard hubs didn't seem long enough for my wheel centres (Superlite Ultralights).

Changing them with the hubs and shafts on is a bit of a fiddle but simple enough. I spun a scrap wheelnut flush onto the studs in turn and then bashed them out carefully with a 5lb hammer. I pulled the new studs in by packing them up with M12 washers and pulling them in with another scrap wheel nut. Grease the washers and the thread on the stud to minimise binding. Mind you - I did strip three nuts this way...... Oh, and I wouldn't have tried it with the wings on either, with my luck I would be bound to bash one.
