Where on earth do you get a) info on the size required and b) the channel itself? I've looked everywhere and can't fine any information. Also what about the glass - is there a min. thickness for SVA?
Leave the screen off for SVA you dont need one for the test, if you do fit one then you will need demist and wipers/washers.

The book tells about reusing shower cabin parts (for the chanel, not for the glass).
For the glass, the "only" requirement is the marking, which proves the "right" thickness too.
I would search for a flat laminated screen from a scrap car, ie Renault 4, and make it cut to size by a water cutting shop.
Cant help regards surround but the glass must be marked BS857, BS857/2, BS5282 or BSAU178 according to my copy of the SVA manual. Auto Windscreens - agricultural dept will cut the correct grade of glass to suit on site.
