Fuel tank breather pipe
Paradoxia0 - 27/5/07 at 02:37 PM

Hi All

Very simple question (if you know the answer!). But where do I run the fuel tank breather pipe?

SHould thi point down to vent out of the bottom of the car (to act as an overflow too) or should it be strapped to the fuel filler pipe and run upwards to above rthe filler neck?

Ta!

put a valve on it an run it high

If you can source a valve from the Sierra, and fit that in the breather pipe it will allow air in, but not fuel out. Fitted one to mine, (came with the doner), works a treat, and my vent is fixed around the edge of the tank. HTH Ray

Never thought about the valve...

Trip to my girlfriends mates to raid one of his Sierra's then

Any idea where I would find this valve to save me ripping half the back of the car to bits?

Mine was bolted, (maybe self tap screwed), to the fuel filler pipe, between the filler cap and the tank. While your at it grab the pipes to. HTH Ray
