PANIC PANIC PANIC – SVA
Got home to a message on the answer phone today telling me that I had a been set a date at Nottingham for the SVA
11th Feb at 8.30 am
First day of half term holidays so no probs getting off work
Last few jobs going well so should be ready on time
Not managed to get emissions checked so just keeping my fingers crossed.
Only concern is self centering – not checked this yet – just hope it works.
Paul
Paul,
If you've got a Nationwide autocentre nearby and you can get the car there (legally of course...) they'll have an MOT bay and would be happy
to stuff their probe up your pipe! Swat I did after the first fail working on the basis that journeys without plates to pre-arranged appointments
(cough) are OK if you have insurance against the VIN...
BEST OF BRITISH SIR! If you pass then we'll arrange a Viento blast in the Midlands eh?...
EDIT - I had no rotation on the mushrooms and it passed self centering no prob - After the event I set about 40% in (then corrected camber) and the
trailing hub makes for a much more responsive 'feel'...

No need to panic , enjoy .
Early morning test is good, you have more time to fix any little faults after the test, hopefuly you will not have any.
Good luck,
Steve.

If it fails self centre then a possible solution on the day is to pump up the front wheel pressure, it sometimes helps.
You do not need to pass first time (although it's what we all want) if you fail it will only be on a few points and you will laugh at how easy it
is to fix, be on the road in no time.

it really focuses the mind does it not.
nothing to worry about
make a list of tasks and cross them off, and if in doubt about radius or edge cover it and pad it.
ditch
Positive thoughts!!!! You will pass
You'll be fine mate, and you're going to a good, honest and helpful test centre there...
Steve
Nottingham test centre is good and the testers are very helpful.
Worse case you fail, go back again and pass! I think 90% of us have been there
