S'cuse me fer askin' like but why'dya want one when you can have the wider track version without the hassle of having driveshafts shortened?

Yeah it's still available if that's what you want Bob. The wide track one is the 'XT' model. Going to the launch next week so I'll take some pics.

I was just wondering as a friend of mine is building the narrow track version,he is wondering why the indy type track is now being used thats all.

ChrisW - 19/10/03 at 08:32 AM

I didn't realise the Indy was wider than the Velocity? I think it's purely to give the builder more choice - a mid point between the standard track Velocity and the 'big all over' Viento. Apparently it handles better too but I guess I'll find out on Wednesday.

From what they told me when I visited the factory it is merely to eliminate the hassle of sourcing shortened Sierra driveshafts to fit the narrow track Velocity, with the added spin-off bonus of improving the handling due to the wider track dimensions. Handy for me as it means I've got a bit more cockpit room for my 6ft 5in 15 stone bulk!
