brake bias valve

Hi everyone will my car pass the iva with a manual bias valve fitted?

The manual says no (presuming you mean a brake fluid proportioning valve?) but it all depends if its found during the test

failed our first IVA because rear brakes were locking up first
asked the examiner he suggested auto one from metro
But did say no adjustable one , not even if its locked off.

I believe this no no is actually mentioned in the IVA manual

From my understanding only bias bars on pedal boxes are alllowed,and must be locked off.

No inline bias/proportional valves are allowed if adjustable at all,even locked off.

Inline ones must be non adjustable.

I used an adjustable proportional valve on my car, IVA guy wasn't happy about it, but passed the car on the previso I went home and locked it off as it will fail an MOT in three years

lucky there then!

as its down in black and white in iva manual nothing adjustable allowed in line.

Thanks for your help everyone I did think about looking in the manual but sometimes its as clear as mud.....I did think about just removing it just for the test....but that seems to be out of the question too what other options are there other than a metro one?

Hi
Early Range rover fitted as std in the rear brake line
It looks a bit neater than the metro one.

The trouble is there's not many of these cars about these days as they all have ABS :/

Fiestas have a good one to use

They are screwed into the mc, so have handy m10x1 threads so you can screw into mc or use one in line.

I haven't tested mine on rollers yet but getting someone to put foot on brake until front wheel locks you can still turn rear wheel.
