Sierra rear beam

Does anyone know if the early sierras have the same rear beam as the later ones. I'm trying to build an early vindicator and nothing seems to fit. I have already replaced the cortina front suspension with a locost version. The rear beam I have is from a 1988 sierra and none or the mounting points line up.

Ditch the rear beam and put a dedion in instead.

I didnt want to have to rework the rear ( skint at the moment and have poly bushes for it) but I may have to.

The problem I have is that the front and rear mounts are too close together and the front bushes are put under alot of strain as the front or rear mounts are at the wrong angle.

Hi mate sounds like you need a Cortina axel.
Buy retroford mag or go on line to find specialist ford breakers theres a few about see if they will do aswap for yours with a bit of cash.

Thanks for the reply but the early vindicator chassis uses cortina front and sierra rear suspension. The problem I have is that nothing fits, I've changed the front to a locost design but have now found that the rear sierra beam does not fit the mounting points. That is why I was wondering if there has been several different beams fitted to early and late sierras. If I can't make it fit I will have to do a haynes roadster rear end, problem is I'm skint so that option will have to wait.
