Afternoon
This is probably going to sound stupid but I’m going to ask anyway.
I’m trying to take my GRP seats out of my Locost to redo the interior etc but I’m a little confused, there are a number of bolts under the car the
obviously hold the seat in place but when I try to undo them the nut and the bolts spin. I can’t get my hands under the seat (inside the car) to hold
the bolt end still, I would have presumed they were captive bolts or something similar but I guess not.
So shall I just cut them off or am I missing something glaringly obvious?
Thanks in advance
Matt
Are the seats on runners ? if so can you slide the seat forward or backwards to get at the bolts you may need a allan key to hold the bolt head or
will the seat slide off the runners .
Are the seats bolted down the sides of the seats some are ?

GRP seats usually have a nut inside fibreglassed inside (usually m8).
If it's spinning it may have come loose inside the seat, for the sake of a bolt I'd probably chop the bolt off to remove it in the first
instance.

Were they tight to start with? They may be loose bolts with some sort of captive arrangement they are meant to lock against. Try pulling dwon on the bolt while undoing or 'pull' them at different angles while undoing.

My seat is mounted on anti-vibration mounts so I have a nylock nut/washer underneath the car as opposed to a bolt going into the seat.
