for a 92 model and early ones have a split
gear at the back springs on the back of mine
are well squashed and rattle big time.

My BEC (Triumph Daytona) has a split basket with rattley springs. I welded it up, then took the spring out. You lose the slight cush drive feature, but then I have a TRT to it seems much the same. It is so much quieter now! Quite a common mod to split baskets.
