As per the title peep's,
i am on the lookout for a laptop with a com port to
connect to my megajolt and megasquirt.
It doesnt have to do much or be very fast as long
as it works.

I have a Dell x300 going spare. No com port... but can you use a USB com emulator?

Think its a 1.6Ghz with 600mb of ram.. windows XP. Wont run for long on the battery tho.

Thanks for the offer but i have a new laptop that doesnt have a com port and
I have tried an adaptor but it didnt work.I have been to
3 different computer shops and maplins but they all sell the same
emulator.

I dont want to mess about trying to find something that will work,
so figure just do it right and get a lappy with a port.

Hmm! I've got a really old one batteries probably goofed you can have it for postage. I use a fairly modern one with an ebay converter no probs
