Vinyl Wrap

Hi,

I'm planning on wrapping my Tiger Supercat. Just wondered if the Vinyl will stick to my aluminium side panels??

Thanks
Dan

Yes, I believe it should. I am using vinyl on all of the aluminium panels of my Striker. It is 3M stuff.

Like the proverbial to a blanket...

Just make sure you clean and degrease the panel first. ANY speck of dirt or grit will show through as a bubble, and the grease will stop the adhesive from working. A good car wash and a wipe down with IPA will work very nicely.

Thanks for the heads-up guys - wrapping was my plan and I had no idea if it'd work.

How do you apply to curved surfaces or parts with straight edged curves (back end) - any ideas?

I'm thinking carbon-fibre effect for the wings ...

Use a heat gun to lightly heat which soffens the vinyl so can be formed to shapes a little more heat if its a odd shape like wing mirrors.

Simple - like all the good stuff.

Thank you.

As a guide to how much of a curve you can get away with, here is my vinyl wrapped motorbike;

Every panel had a slight compound curve. I also wrapped the fuel tank which is pretty much a deformed sphere!
