Launch control

Just wondered if anyone has experience of, or used MSD Launch Master.

As it says, used as a launch control with the ability to preset the revs at start of sprint/hillclimb, or lights!

I can't seem to be able to locate one in the UK, only in America, cost is about 244.00 dollars.

I use launch control on megasquirt - just limits rpms to 3600 in my case. It certainly help to make you more consistant.

The engine is a zx10r and I don't think omex does a launch control for bike engines. Nodiz from what I looked at would require changing a number of management items I think to make it work, so would probably work out more expensive, also I already have mapping ability with the kit ecu.

The MSD launch control can set the revs anywhere up to 9000, then as soon as you take your foot off the clutch or button it disengages and your revs build normally.

It seems to be good for tubos to build up boost at the start, so I'm told.
Thanks for the input, if I buy this I will post my findings.

Back in the day , I was one of the first to use `launch control' on my Pro stock bike - it was an MSD system , which used plug-in chips to set the RPM .
I used 8400 rpm and 3/4 throttle on the line , and it transformed the launch - plus making a rev counter unnecessary .

Following my previous post I have just fitted an MSD launch master to my zx10r powered Van Diemen.

The MSD harness connects to the 4 plug top coils with oem connectors, an earth wire and a wire connected to the clutch switch or in my case, a momentary push button on the steering wheel.

The launch revs can be set up to 9000 and it took about 20 mins to fit.

While doing this, I integrated the MSD harness with an HM quickshifter harness, so now have launch control and flat upshifting.

OK no fancy buttons or paddles, just good old fashioned gear lever.

Just need the brain transplant to go faster now.
