My beloved Pug 405 td estate. Ideal load lugger, which I bought cheaply some time back, today decided to eat its water pump.
It still drives, but the pump sounds like a drum-kit falling down a flight of stairs, and it leaks a steady stream of water.
I just got hold of winter tyres for it too
Pah, off to the auctions on thursday for a new banger
pug is on ebay btw if anyone wants it for spares (snow tyres not included)

Put a new pump and timing belt on it , Not to difficult or expensive. Dont try to get away with the old belt.
its not worth it.
the car cost me £150. A new pump, belt and sundries is a decent percentage of that. The MOT is up in January and its bound to need work done, so I
wont be fixing it.
I quite enjoy running sub £200 bangers. Run them till they break, then get another one.
Yeah I know what you mean I paid £350 for my XM diesel 8 years ago , it just went through another MOT last month after about an hours preparation and no parts used.
That looks too good to flog on. Id put a pump and belt on it. As rusty says theyr not a bad job,.
My dads got a 1987 Audi 80 1.8 E and it is probably worth about £70. However, It has done wayover 160,000 miles and the engine has not stepped a foot
out of place. Fantastic car!
This proves my point.
