Type 9 gearbox

Hi all...

Can I ask you guys a question regarding my type nine gearbox, I have a Duratec bell housing with a hydro clutch actuator, can I or can anyone advise me on the matter of the gearbox input shaft sleeve is a little too fat for the clutch actuator, so can I cut the sleeve down so that its just the bare input shaft running through the actuator or should I turn down the sleeve so it can go through the actuator, as I have seen type 9 gearbox's with bare input shafts but a lot more with sleeves.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Tony....

You're suppose to unbolt it and remove.

Yes you cut it off, its only mild steel and quite easy to do Then replace it with a new gasket as there is a little oil return back into the box for oil that gets through the bearing if you don't oil will leak out.
Also while you are doing that make sure you have a bolt in your bell housing like the one below-it will hold you layshaft in place
