Good work fella, very neat install.

You made it look a lot easier than some supercharger threads I've looked at.

lol....so true!

The ali block for the outlet started off at 13.5kg and finished at just under 2kg!!!

I fitted a smaller pulley to the charger and the whole set-up is producing 7.5psi throughout the rev range.

richardm6994 - 9/1/15 at 08:25 AM

oh and I believe technically its an eaton m65 charger as found on the merc's....but its basically the same as the 45 just with a different body

garyt - 10/1/15 at 01:36 PM

Yes there is a big difference physically between the m45 and m65 . I tried to position my m45 like you but had clearance issues between the exhaust and bonnet, and didn't want a big hole in the bonnet. A guy on the us site put his m45 at the top and had to do that. obviously the m65 is less bulky.
I mounted my m45 lower down but then had to remake the exhaust manifold (pics in my photo archive)
did you use an intercooler?
I found that a Passat I/c fitted nicely .
still it is really neat work congrats as i'm sure many guys would be interested

Final rolling road results are in.....230bhp and 202 ftlbs.

Things have taken a little longer as the project came to a stop due to a stage 2 clutch being required.

Now that's fitted, final tuning in the rr done and all is good.

It's done about 35 miles to bed things in and it's fair to say 'smiles all round'
