Dam car. RANT.

Took my car for a blast today to sort the tracking out at my work. All going well until overtaking a lorry on the A14 it decides to misfire and lose power. Lovely when theres a BMW up my arse. Shit i thought what do i do. Right near an off slip for some services. There was a landrover up the arse of the lorry who luckily he let me in so i ducked off down the slip road, managed to keep it running just and limped into the services.
Bonnet off only running on 3. Pulled the leads off and refitted them and it started up perfect. Right do i go home or carry on to my work.
Having thought it was sorted and just a lead not in right i carry on to work. get another 5 miles back onto A14 all goign well come of the slip road and it dies completely, manage to limp it into a pull in. Bonnet off. Go to start it, starter dont wanna turn as if a flat battery. C**t thinks me right in a twat of a place aswell just on a roundabout.

The starter did that to me the other day. So i redid all the earths and its been ok since.

Stood there waiting for it to cool a bit thinking it was the bendix jamming on the flywheel as everything is hot. Still wouldnt turn so i got my mate to come with some tools and jump leads. Got it going before he got there so went into asda car park which was next to the roundabout so i didnt look such a cock. You could here the plug cap on number 4 arcing. Rammed that on and it ran well. They dont seem to want to clip onto the plugs very well.

My mate turned up and followed me to work where i abandonded it and he took me home to get my car and trailer. Back to work i go. Did the tracking and brung it home.

What an afternoon iv had!! I wasnt gonna take it out either as the weather was crap.

Hopefully new leads will cure it.

Now having some beer. Rant over.

Will probably need plugs as well Dan , they don't like misfiring.

I understand how you feel, after we spend ages building these things it can feel like we have created unreliable beasts and that we can hardly ever use them. I try to convince myself that these are just teething troubles but it can get very frustrating. I have promised myself and my wife that I will take us and the car to Germany to do the Nuremburg ring yet I feel deep down that I must be mad to even thing of it. And that is a shame.
