Paint the walls with cheapo white emulsion paint. It will make the workshop look better, and more importantly, it will reflect all the light making it a better place to work. ie brighter and easier to see / work in. I could only do one wall and it made a hell of a difference.
Make sure you have a couple of good Fluroescent tubes hanging from the ceiling, and with the white walls it will be well worth it.

Fit a Radio, I got an old Hi-Fi unit from the recycling centre for £3. Well worth it for an old but half decent radio.

I also got an old secondary glazing unit, painted one side with white emulsion paint, and used it with on the other side with board marker pens.
It makes a good whiteboard, for doing those quick calculations. Also as a reminder for jotting notes of parts you need to buy, or jobs to do later.
I just kept forgetting what I have thought or earlier in the day!

It makes the place less depressing for those times when the project is not going so well!.
We all know, as we have all been there.

As fot the Forum... As plenty of questsions, as wehave all done what you are about to do!

Most of all use the search facility, as its all been chewed over to death before!.
Make sure you built it so it passes the IVA, as most cars on here have passed teh SVA, and the IVA is sightly different.

Finally, Keep those Photo's coming! Take plenty of pictures, and save them in your archive on this forum, and label them well. It helps others!

Have fun, and enjoy the build, it will be worth it!

EDIT:

Just forgot!... Add your location to your profile. It helps when buying / selling and with offers of help etc.
