Viento V8 Reverse switch Lt77

I think I have a earlier chassis which makes my transmission tunnel very tight. I have the engine and LT77 with the longer remote housing in and fitting. My only problem is the chuffing reverse selection thingymagig and the reverse switch. I have twiddled with the nuts etc and I seem to have cracked it as regards to the selection device (I am correct in thinking that reverse is far left and up????) but the reverse switch is pants.

The switch is screwed into the housing and is pressed my the gear lever when selecting reverse. No amount of adjusting can I seemingly find the sweet spot. When selecting reverse the gear lever clicks into place and as soon as you let go of it it moves back towards the centre very slightly and turns the reverse light out when still in reverse. If I screw in the switch to prevent it going out it also then starts coming on when you go into first. No matter how much adjusting I do I can't seem to get it working constantly in reverse and not coming on in first. Either something is not correct or worn or I am missing something.

Also I cannot easily remove the switch as the chassis is in the way. I have to take the whole remote housing off. Its driving me nuts!!

Any advice?

I had the same problem.

In the end I gave up and fitted a manual switch on the dash with an indicator built in.:

Will that be okay for the IVA though? I have been reading up on the net and I found a couple of posts on other forums about the bearings in the shaft on the remote can be worn. I am looking into that at the moment.
