Viento Rover V8

First up.. I'm new - hello!

I have joined after about 5 years of Viento ownership but it has been off the road for the last 2 and now it is time to get it back on the road, the trouble is the engine though.

It has a Rover V8 twin plenum with an early fuel injection system which it looks like the previous owner dropped straight in from the doner. After seeing lots of pictures of other Rover V8s I was wondering what I could strip off it and replace to make it more reliable and presentable\less cramped under the bonnet.

Thanks in advance

Welcome

My V8 originally ran on a Weber carb from the donor Capri. I converted it to EFI a few years ago. There is no room under my bonnet so I ended up with a 4 barrel throttle body on an Offenhauser 360 carb manifold. There are some before and after pictures here

I got to know about it from here

There are also photos of just about everything ever fitted to the RV8 here

It's possible to use 4 throttle bodies controlled by a Megasquirt ,Snuggs has converted his Viento using a Boxer manifold.
IIRC Wilkingj had a manifold for sale recently

Hi,
I used to run a twin plenum with the standard ecu in my viento. Mine came straight from the doner and i put 20,000 miles on it before fitting an emerald k6 two winters ago. This years upgrade was a new 4.6 stage 2 from V8 Developments.
It was rolling roaded in april and so far ive covered 6 k miles, mainly with SKCC.
I still have all the parts from the old setup.
Whats your location?
Kenton

Wow thanks for the replies!

I am based in Kent nr Sevenoaks and the car had a bit of use before I decided to leave it standing for far too long as it was a bit unreliable (overheating) and uncomfortable to drive (I am 5'6" and need to bring the seat forwards...I liked the V8) so now it has turned into a project.

Thanks for the pictures, links and suggestions I am going through them now and will no doubt have more questions following on from them...
